More about Parachuting Parachuting is one of the most exciting thrilling and eXhilarating experiences available. Just imagine jumping out of an aircraft at 3000 feet all on your own! Your parachute is operated by a static line system which will open automatically within a few seconds of leaving the aircraft. Then its all down to you. The views from 3000 feet are absolutely breathtaking as you steer your highly maneuverable parachute back to the drop zone. What does the parachute course include? The first day will start with thorough briefings from your instructor on all aspects of your parachute jump. This will include how to position yourself in the door how to leave the aircraft how to steer the parachute to your landing point and finally how to land. This training is quite involved and does require a certain amount of physical fitness. To enable you to complete the jump you must complete a minimum of 8 hours training so it may not be possible to complete the jump on the same day. Following the training its out to the aircraft where you will climb to approximately 3000 feet before exiting and completing this unforgettable experience. How about the weather? As with most air sports the weather does play a part. Should you not be able to jump on your allotted day because of weather conditions your jump will be rescheduled for another time. What do I wear? Comfortable clothing is recommended such as a tracksuit and a pair of training shoes and warm clothes in the winter. All other equipment will be supplied. Are there any restrictions? Minimum age 16 years. Maximum age 49 years. Under 18 years needs parental consent and the appropriate indemnity forms signed. Also a separate letter from a parent or guardian is required. Over 40 years requires a signed doctors medical certification. Maximum age is normally 49 years but if you are physically fit please call eXhilaration to discuss the situation further. All parachutists will be required to sign a declaration of fitness. Maximum weight restrictions will vary depending on the location therefore we strongly recommend that you contact eXhilaration to check these prior to booking your experience. What else do I need to know? No alcohol to be consumed on the day of your jump. Arrival times vary between centres but as a general rule you will be expected at the centre at around 8.45am. Precise details will be sent with your confirmation. Can I bring spectators? Spectators are welcome and most centres have catering facilities available.


Bungee Jump

What does the Bungee Jump include? After a briefing from your instructor you will be attached securely to the safety harness and then the rest is all down to you. The sensation of free-falling before being snatched back by the bungee cord is unbelievable and guess what... you're going to find out exactly what it's like! How about the weather? It is unlikely that you will not be able to jump on the day as bungee jumping is a very versatile sport. However if you are not be able to jump at your allotted time because of weather conditions your jump will be rescheduled for another day. What do I wear? Comfortable clothing is recommended such as a tracksuit a pair of training shoes and warm clothes in the winter. All other equipment will be supplied. Where does the activity take place? The majority of jumps take place in Berkshire (outdoor) or Sheffield (indoor) however at certain times of the year other locations may be available please contact eXhilaration for further details. Are there any restrictions? Minimum age 14 years. If you are under 16 years old a parent or guardian must be present. Over 50 years requires a signed doctors medical certification. You will not be permitted to jump should you have any of the following conditions: Pregnancy High Blood Pressure Heart Problems Epilepsy or Asthma. When can I do my experience? Selected dates throughout the year. Can I bring spectators? Spectators are welcome.


30 Minute Aerobatic Flying Lesson

30 Minute Aerobatic Flying Lesson

What does the flight include? Your instructor will start the lesson with a pre-flight briefing enabling you to understand how the aircraft is capable of aerobatic flight. Once in the air your instructor will accelerate the aircraft to over 100mph before starting a sequence of aerobatic maneuvers which may include loops rolls wingovers and even the dreaded spin. All this takes place several thousand feet in the air. Due to the nature of this experience you will not be able to take the controls so just sit back and enjoy This experience is not for the faint hearted and is definitely not recommended with a hangover!!! Please Note: The maneuvers described above are only an example of what you may experience and will differ depending on the location. Where does the experience take place? Camberley in Surrey Cranfield in Bedfordshire, Shoreham by Sea in West Sussex, Stapleford in Essex and Redhill in Surrey. How about the weather? Light aircraft are not usually affected too badly by weather conditions. If however your experience cannot take place due to the adverse weather an alternative date will be offered to you. What do I wear? You should wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the time of year and a pair of sensible shoes is recommended. Are there any restrictions? Minimum height 5 feet (guideline only) Maximum height 6 feet 4 inches (guideline only) Maximum weight 225lbs/100kg You should not take part in this activity if you are pregnant or suffer from epilepsy. The above restrictions may vary depending on the location please check with eXhilaration if you have any concerns. Can I bring spectators? Spectators are welcome although views may be limited as the lesson will take place away from the airfield in most cases. What else do I need to know? You should allow approximately 25-30 minutes for the flight itself (from taxi to landing) but you should allow around an hour for the whole experience.


60 Minute Helicopter Flying Lesson

What does the activity include? The trial lesson will start with a briefing from your instructor followed by a flight of approximately 60 minutes. During this time you will be shown how a helicopter actually flies followed by the opportunity of a real hands-on flying experience with you at the controls. The helicopter is a remarkable aircraft and will astound you with its versatility. The whole experience will last approximately one and a half hours. Where does the experience take place? Cambridgeshire Yorkshire Lancashire Warwickshire Merseyside Buckinghamshire West Midlands Aberdeenshire Hampshire West Sussex and Kent. What should I wear? Normal out-door clothing such as a pair of trousers. This experience is similar to driving a car where you will need to operate pedals so a pair of sensible shoes are recommended. How long should I allow for this experience? You should allow approximately one and a half hours for this experience. When does the activity take place? Helicopter flying lessons take place all year round and are normally available on any day of the week. Are there any restrictions? Minimum height 5 foot. (This only a guideline) Maximum height 6 foot 2 ins. Maximum weight 17 stones. (This is only a guideline - please check at time of booking) You should not take part if you suffer from epilepsy vertigo or are pregnant. What about the weather? Helicopters are very versatile aircraft and are not usually affected too badly by weather conditions. If however your experience cannot take place due to the weather an alternative date will be offered to you. Can I bring spectators? Spectators are welcome but views may be limited. Hot Air Balloon Flight for Two

Hot Air Balloon Flight for Two

What does the activity include? The excitement starts with the inflation of the huge balloon which will surprise you with its immense size - almost seven stories high. You will then climb aboard and be briefed by your pilot. As you take off the feeling will be one of pure elation. The direction of the flight will be dictated by the wind and will last around one hour. Your view of the countryside will be uninterrupted in all directions as the scenery unfolds below. Once the balloon is packed away its time to celebrate in the traditional balloonist's manner with champagne. Where does the experience take place? There are approximately 65 launch sites around the UK. What should I wear? Normal out-door clothing and footwear appropriate for the time of year. Please remember it will be colder at altitude than it is on the ground. How long should I allow for this experience? The flight last for approximately one hour but the whole experience may last approximately four hours. When does the activity take place? Flights are scheduled throughout the year although there are less flights during the winter months. Are there any restrictions? There is no upper age limits but passengers must be agile enough to climb into the basket (which is about 42 inches (1.1m) high)and to stand for an hour. Children must be at least 8 years old children under the age of 16 years will only be flown if accompanied by a responsible adult appointed by the parent(s) or guardian. All passengers should be at least 4ft 6ins (1.4m)in height to see over the edge of the basket. In the interests of safety and operational requirements we cannot undertake the carriage of passenger whose declared weight exceeds 18 stones (114 kg). Voucher is not valid for London City Skyline flights. What about the weather? Ballooning requires good stable weather light winds and good visibility. For this reason most flights are scheduled for just after dawn or just before dusk - although take off time will vary depending on the time of year. In the event that you flight is cancelled due to bad weather the balloon operator will make alternative arrangements with you for another date. It is the pilots decision on all aspects of the flight. Once you have activated your voucher you must attempt to take the flight at least8 times within the same season. If you do not an extension fee will be payable to the balloon operator. Can I bring spectators? Spectators are welcome and may help to inflate the balloon before wishing you bon voyage. What else do I need to know? This voucher is valid for two people. Voucher not valid for London flights.


Top Gun Experience (Weekend)

Top Gun Experience (Weekend)

What does the activity include? Your instructors are RAF trained in fast jet flying and after a thorough flight and safety briefing you will experience close formation and learn to fly aerobatics military manoeuvres and tail chasing. The plane used is a 'Military Bulldog' which is a piston engined propeller-driven aircraft. Where does the experience take place? This experience is held at Kemble Airfield near Cirencester in Gloucestershire What should I wear? It is essential that you wear light flat shoes with good grips - trainers are ideal. Comfortable casual clothes are recommended. It is also advisable you take a light jacket as it can be exposed on the airfield. Loose objects (including cameras) are not allowed in the aircraft cockpit. How long should I allow for this experience? Your experience will last for approximately 3-4 hours When does the activity take place? Flights operate on Saturdays from the end of March to the beginning of November subject to availability. This is structured as a flying lesson and you will be taught to fly the aircraft yourself. Are there any restrictions? Participants are required to sign a disclaimer before taking part Age:14-55 (over 55s require a letter from their GP) Maximum Height : 6'6” Maximum Weight: 20 stone What about the weather? This is a weather dependent activity and it is crucial that you call the centre for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled due to bad weather then an alternative will be offered to you. Can I bring spectators? Up to two spectators per participant are very welcome and may be allowed to attend your briefings with you if there is enough space. Please be aware that spectators are not covered by insurance to go airside. Spectating is not recommended for young children as facilities are limited. What else do I need to know? The aerodrome has cafe and bar facilities. Personal Accident Insurance is included. The plane used is a ‘Bulldog’ which is a piston engined propeller-driven plane. Once a date is booked for the activity the centre requires a minimum of 14 days notice to change or cancel a booking. If you provide less than 14 days notice charges will be made.


Gliding Experience

Gliding Experience

What does the activity include? The experience starts with a thorough briefing on all aspects of gliding from your instructor. You will then take to the air for this fantastic experience. The aero tow (or multiple winch launches) will take you to the desired altitude before releasing the glider for the flight to start which will normally last between 12-20 minutes depending on the thermals on the day. You can either sit back and enjoy the ride or take the controls for a more ‘hands-on’ experience. Where does the experience take place? Buckinghamshire Lincolnshire Cambridgeshire Kent North Wales Herefordshire North Devon or Bedfordshire. What should I wear? Normal out-door clothing and footwear appropriate for the time of year. Airfields can be windy although it is usually fairly warm in the enclosed cockpit. A good pair of sunglasses can be useful. How long should I allow for this experience? You should expect to spend approximately one hour at the airfield. When does the activity take place? Most centres operate all year round although some do fly less frequently during the winter months. Some centres operate at weekends and others midweek please call eXhilaration for advice on specific locations. Are there any restrictions? Minimum age limit is 14. Under 18’s must have written parental consent. To get the best from this experience you should be tall enough to reach the controls - 5 feet / 1.5m. Maximum height limit: 6 foot 4 ins. Maximum weight limit: 15stone however if you are over this weight please advise eXhilaration as we will have to check restrictions with the centre in question. What about the weather? As with many air sports gliding is affected by the weather but to a lesser extent than most. In fact gliders can operate when many powered light aircraft are grounded.
